1.30pm (approx) - Burial at Vale Cemetery

John Brennan born on the 17 May 1932 in the USA where he lived until he returned to his parent’s home in Wolfhill Ireland. As a teenager he worked in the Coal mine and in October 1957 married Catherine Farrell. In 1958 the young married couple moved to England where their four children, Sean, Peter, Anthony and Eileen were all born. Later on, came six Grandchildren, Ailish, Shona, Alex, Will, Megan and Skye whom all adore their ‘G’Dad’.

John was always very hard working, and worked in factories spray painting trucks, a food factory and then as a caretaker in local schools. He loved to socialise, and enjoyed his pints at St Josephs, the Pines and the Swan. A very kind hearted man, who was always the first to arrange a benefit dance, for someone in need, or fundraising by collecting 2 pounds for football teams.

He loved animals particularly Fluffy, Sensi, Stripe and Carrig and spoilt them all. His love of animals extended to horses, although he would never tell you who he was going to bet on, he always seemed to ‘do alright’. That love of horses took him to organising and playing another sport – Horseshoes. He also had a great love of the ocean, every summer holiday he had, had to be near the sea – or it didn’t count as a holiday.

Although he didn’t get his official passport until later in life, he did travel to France, Hong Kong, China, Vietnam and Australia a few times. He had a great sense of fun – always joking around and ensuring that everyone was having a good time. There was never a dull moment. He passed away, at home in Luton peacefully on 23 December 2020 and will always be loved by his family.
